Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the LangTo document translation service ("Service") operated by Shufen Li ("we", "us", or "our"), an individual developer, under the brand name LangTo. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

LangTo is an AI-powered document translation service that translates documents while preserving their original formatting. The Service supports various file formats including PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, TXT, and Markdown.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must notify us immediately at contact@langto.ai if you become aware of any unauthorized use.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Plans and Credits

The Service offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans include a monthly credit allowance. Credit consumption varies by file format and AI model selected. Details are available on our pricing page.

Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, as selected at the time of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled before renewal.

Price Changes

We may adjust subscription prices with at least 30 days' prior notice via email. Price changes take effect at the start of the next billing cycle following the notice period.

Refunds

All payments are generally non-refundable. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and it will remain active until the end of the current billing period. Refunds may be issued where required by applicable consumer protection law.

Credit Packs

Purchased credit packs do not expire while your account is active. Credits from credit packs are consumed after your monthly subscription credits are exhausted. Upon account termination, any unused credits are forfeited and are not refundable.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload files that contain malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Use the Service to process content that is illegal in your jurisdiction
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the algorithms or models underlying the Service
  • Circumvent rate limits, usage quotas, or other technical restrictions
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our prior written consent
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as a hosted translation service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

6. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain all rights to the documents you upload and the translations produced by the Service. We claim no ownership over your content or translations.

Our Service

The Service, including its software, design, algorithms, and branding, is owned by LangTo and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as described herein.

7. Translation Quality Disclaimer

The Service uses AI models to produce translations. AI-generated translations may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. The Service is not a substitute for professional human translation.

You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying translation output before relying on it for any purpose, including but not limited to legal, medical, financial, or regulatory matters.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of any translation for any particular purpose.

8. Document Handling

  • Uploaded files are processed solely for translation and are automatically deleted within 24 hours after translation completion.
  • Translated result files are automatically deleted within 7 days after translation completion.
  • Document content is sent to third-party AI services for processing. See our Privacy Policy for details.
  • We do not use your documents for AI model training.

9. Limitation of Liability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting contact@langto.ai.

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice, if:

  • You breach these Terms
  • We are required to do so by law
  • We reasonably believe your account is being used fraudulently

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Uploaded and translated files will be deleted in accordance with our standard retention schedule. Unused credits are not refundable.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the parties involved. Any dispute shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation by contacting contact@langto.ai. If the dispute cannot be resolved within thirty (30) days, either party may pursue remedies available under applicable law.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by posting the updated Terms on our website at least 14 days before they take effect.

If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service before they take effect.
